Project Details
Delivery Method: Design-Build
Owner: Yaman Realty | Housing Visions
Total Size: 150,000 SF
This adaptive re-use project brings new life to the historic Crescent Corset factory, a historic 1920’s brick building that encompasses an entire block of Main Street in Cortland. The renovated mixed-use facility features 50 market-rate and affordable residential units with amenities including a lounge, exercise room and private courtyard. The ground floor provides 41,000 SF of commercial space.
On this design-build project, VIP’s team collaborated together, working seamlessly to provide the clients with a high quality and efficient design within their construction budget. VIP’s team utilized a “non-cookie-cutter” approach that kept construction costs minimized while being sensitive to practicalities and costs of property management post completion.
VIP’s team was instrumental in helping secure grant funding for the developer in order to obtain historic tax credits necessary for project award. Crescent Commons is a partnership between a Cortland-based real estate developer and Housing Visions, a Syracuse-based nonprofit, with grant support from Empire State Development, National Grid and the City of Cortland.
