Feldmeier Equipment | Manufacturing Expansion | Design-Build
Progress continues at Feldmeier Equipment’s 85,000 SF two-part manufacturing addition. The 10,000 SF north-side expansion, designed to increase storage capacity, is officially complete and being turned over ahead of schedule. Roofing and siding on the 75,000 SF south-side addition are complete, with final PEMB work wrapping up. VIP’s concrete crew recently completed all equipment pits and trenches, and concrete slab work is underway for completion by early May. The project is on track for completion this summer.
N.E.T. & Die | Industrial Adaptive Reuse | Design & Construction
VIP’s design and construction teams recently finished up the conversion of a former K-Mart store in the new headquarters of N.E.T. & Die, a Fulton-based CNC machine shop. The adaptive reuse project began in October. One of the most critical upgrades was replacing approximately half of the existing 4” slab with 8 inches of reinforced concrete to support the weight and precision requirements of CNC equipment, ensuring long-term durability and stability. The company is currently in the process of moving its equipment into the recently completed facility.
1117 W. Fayette St | Adaptive Reuse Housing | Construction Manager
Work is progressing steadily at the adaptive reuse residential project at 1117 W. Fayette Street. Slated for completion in early 2026, this project will transform the historic Kemp & Burpee factory into 38 new condominiums, helping to revitalize the West Fayette Street corridor between Downtown Syracuse and Tipperary Hill. MEP rough-ins are underway, with drywall installation beginning at unit separation walls.
Adaptive Reuse Housing | The Post - Phase 2 |
VIP as Design-Builder and Develop
Less than two years after the completion of phase 1, which saw the construction of four class-A office spaces and associated amenities at the post, Phase 2 residential development is officially underway. Renovation of the currently vacant portions of the building (formerly occupied by newspaper printing operations) will be converted into 72 one- and two-bedroom luxury apartments. With demolition begun, the apartments are expected to begin leasing in spring 2026.
250 Harrison St | Historic Tax Credit Adaptive Reuse – Housing | Construction Manager
Redevelopment of the former Hilton Hotel in Downtown Syracuse has officially started. In recent years, the building at 250 Harrison Street has been occupied by commercial offices on the upper floors with ground-level retail space anchored by Ale ‘n’ Angus. Ale ‘n’ Angus will remain open. Led by developer High Tide Capital, VIP is now transforming the six-story 36,684-square-foot building into 35 apartment units with ground-floor commercial space remaining. Demolition is nearly complete, and construction on upper floors has begun. The project is scheduled to be completed in spring 2026.
Mohawk Valley EDGE | Industrial Flex Space | Design-Build
Construction of Mohawk Valley EDGE’s 60,000 SF Industrial Flex Space at the Marcy Nanocenter Campus is nearly complete. With the exterior set to be completed in May, interior finishing well underway, natural gas service energized and MEP scope in the testing, balancing, and commissioning phase, the project is slated to be completed by June!
