Since 1896, Gaylord Bros. has provided library and archival supplies and library furniture to public libraries, schools, colleges and museums worldwide. Later acquired by Wisconsin-based DEMCO, the new management company was considering moving Gaylord’s originally-based Syracuse manufacturing and office facility out of New York State.
VIP Development Associates, Inc. (VIPDA) worked with Gaylord management and area economic development officials to find a site that was economically viable and would allow the company to remain in the state. VIP Development Associates was able to secure an Empire Zone site in the Hancock Field Air Park that already had town approvals necessary to build, thus allowing an expedited construction schedule.
Sister companies VIP Structures, VIP Architectural Associates, PLLC and VIP Structures Inc., designed and built the 72,000 SF office, light assembly and shipping facility.
VIP Development Associates leased the facility back to Gaylord Bros., structuring the lease to allow key economic development incentives to be passed onto Gaylord as the tenant.
