In 2018, Syracuse Urban Partnership bought this long vacant corner lot and asked VIP to help them with their mission to create a place that brings the community together.
Recently completed in 2021, the main public space is a 24,000-square-foot food market with ten food vendors and a grocery store. The idea is that people from all walks of Syracuse, downtown workers, people waiting at the bus hub and people from the nearby neighborhoods, will eat together. The food hall serves as incubator space for chefs who have the cooking talent to make it in the restaurant world, but perhaps not enough resources or business knowledge.
Aside from the food hall and market, the 4-story building features office space for not-for-profit agencies and mixed-income apartments. It is a space for everyone, bringing people from all parts of the community together.
