Meg Tidd on 50 years in the Syracuse Community

Fifty years ago, Dave Nutting set out with a bold vision to integrate design and construction under one roof and established VIP Structures in Syracuse in 1975. What began as a small startup has grown into a thriving, fully integrated design-build firm with over 150 professionals.Second generation leader, CEO Meg Tidd recently sat with Syracuse’s 9WSYR to reflect on VIP’s history, celebrate its 50th anniversary, and share her vision for the future.

“We would not be the company we are today...if the community had not supported us through the years in the way that they have.”

This achievement of 50 years in business is truly shared. With VIP’s past and present employees—whose talent, hard work, and belief in our mission have been the heart of VIP for five decades; with our clients who have trusted us to bring their visions to life; with our vendors who have provided unwavering support and stand with us as true collaborators; and with our community, which drives us to dream bigger and achieve more every day.

With the Central New York region poised for transformative growth, VIP’s vision remains clear: to build on its legacy while finding “A Better Way” for its clients, its employees, and the community, ensuring that its next 50 years are even more impactful than the last.
