Leadership Greater Syracuse (LGS) is an independent non-profit organization that was founded in 1990 as a partnership between the City of Syracuse, Onondaga County, Onondaga Community College and Centerstate CEO. Its mission is to “inspire current and future leaders to make a difference in the community where we live and work.”

VIP Structures has had an employee participate in this program since 2012. Past graduates include: Kate Hoeft – 2012, Jeremy Wheeler – 2012, Chuck Wallace – 2013, Meg Tidd – 2014, Bill Blanchard – 2015, Vince Raymond – 2016, Christine Stevens – 2020, Cynthia Hernandez – 2021, and Mac Romal – 2023.

Each graduate participates in the one-year, tuition based civic engagement program that informs and enriches participants. Each class is different and the “Apprentice” style format means that each class day is customized by the interests of the participants. Members get to meet the key decision makers across Onondaga County and have the opportunity to learn about the challenges and achievements of our community. Upon graduation, the goal is for these individuals to take a more active and higher level role in their workplace and in the community.
